Remember the rewards for good deeds are multiplied in these 10 special days.

“There is no deed more precious in the sight of Allah, or greater in reward, than a good deed done during the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.”

The companions asked: ‘Not even Jihad (fighting in Allah’s Cause)?’ He (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) replied: “Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah, unless a man goes out risking himself and his wealth for the sake of Allah, and does not come back with anything.” [Bukhari]

And it is these ten days, of which Allah takes an oath saying:
By the dawn; by the ten nights.” [Surah al-Fajr (89): 1-2]

Make dua

Firstly, we ask that you make dua for your brothers and sisters in need.

“The dua of a Muslim for his brother in his absence is readily accepted, and an angel is appointed to his side, whenever he makes a beneficial dua for his brother the appointed angel says “ameen and may you also be blessed with the same” (Muslim)

Spending for the sake of Allah!

Only Allah knows how many trials & calamities have been pushed away from us, our family and loved ones as a result of our sadaqah. Allah knows how many times relief and ease has come to us due to the sadaqah we gave.

Show Allah that you love Him by spending from that which you love.
You shall not attain righteousness until you spend out of what you love (in the way of Allah). Allah knows whatever you spend. (3:92)

Fundraising Iftar

The duas of a fasting person are truly accepted.  Why not invite all your friends to an iftar to break your fast together and remember those less fortunate than ourselves.  During this time, ask everyone to give generously either through one-off donations or a regular standing order.

Eid giving for the sake of Allah

Take the whole family out for Eid salah including your mothers, sisters, daughters and wives so everyone benefits from the jamah and khutbah. Not only is it an obligation but it’s a beautiful good deed as it is performed with the whole family together plus there are good deeds (sunnahs) connected to it.

One beautiful sunnah is to give gifts to our loved one – maybe this year consider giving a regular gift to someone in need?
