You can share these details amongst your contacts to help you achieve your target insha’Allah.

Case history:
Sister Jamila is a single mother with four dependent daughters. Her legal status stipulates that she can work in the UK but she has no access to benefits. She is trying to up skill herself to get a better job and is also currently seeking a job but her efforts so far have been largely fruitless. She does whatever odd-job comes her way but the pay is usually minimal and the work is not constant.

As the sole breadwinner in the family, she has reached the limit on her credit cards and has been forced to borrow from a lot of friends and family here and back home. She also has a credit card overdraft as she lives on credit on a daily basis and she is behind on her rent payments. She has been issued an eviction notice and her landlord is pressing charges. At the moment, she has been out of work for a few months and is finding difficulty looking for another job in this current job climate, especially with the added stress of an impending court case and eviction.

Sister Jamila is currently behind on her rental payments by 3 months. Her landlord has been pressuring her to pay off the rent and she has been faced with an eviction notice. She cannot afford to go anywhere else and it is unlikely that she will be accepted in any other form of accommodation due to her financial constraints and her ineligibility for public funds.

Message from applicant:
“The landlord is very upset and is threatening eviction. Please spare me this humiliation. Baraka'Allahu feek.”

Expected outcome/benefit of support:
The sister will have the mental, emotional and physical strain of facing eviction taken off her and her dependant daughters. She will have a stable home while she focuses on securing a job.

Likely scenario if NZF does not support applicant:
The sister will be made homeless with her four daughters. She will also be in a lot of debt due to her rent arrears, creditors’ debts and bank overdraft. She will also have a legal case against her.
