Shariah Governed. Scholar Led. Fully Accountable.

We take the responsibility of Zakat collection and distribution seriously.

We ensure every pound is calculated, governed, and distributed in line with Islamic principles, with full accountability to the communities we serve.

What the Shariah Panel Does

The NZF Shariah Panel provides independent oversight to ensure Zakat is managed and distributed in line with Islamic principles.

The panel:

  • Sets and reviews Zakat policies and guidance
  • Advises on eligibility, distribution, and emerging Zakat issues
  • Reviews new programmes and services before they are launched
  • Ensures decisions are consistent with scholarly guidance and best practice

By combining classical scholarship with an understanding of the UK context, the panel helps ensure Zakat is handled with care, integrity, and confidence at every stage.
