Q: Does the husband have to pay for the wife’s savings?
A: In principle, Zakat is an obligation on each qualifying individual. Thus, Zakat is primarily due on the husband and wife separately. However, a husband may pay the wife’s Zakat if there is a mutual understanding in this regard.
