Choosing Zakat workers
To collect Zakat, an individual must be:
- 1. A Muslim.
- 2. Sane and mature.
- 3. Trustworthy, righteous and honest so that the rights of the poor are not neglected.
- 4. Have a general and complete knowledge of Zakat rulings and regulations.
- 5. Efficiency and performance.
Other people can be entrusted to give Zakat on your behalf. They then become the Zakat distributor for you. The obligation is not fulfilled until the distributor has distributed the Zakat.
