Zakat Q&A Events with Islamic Bank of Britain
The National Zakat Foundation is pleased to be working in partnership with the Islamic Bank of Britain (IBB) to offer a series of free Zakat Q&A events at selected IBB branches in May. The events are open to all (not just IBB account holders) and are an excellent opportunity to find out more about the principles and practicalities of Zakat in Islam. Guests will also have the opportunity to ask questions and take part in a discussion about Sharia finance in general. Please note: All events commence at 7pm and end at 8:30pm insha’Allah.
Zakat distribution reaches over half a million pounds
Continuing the trend from the previous month, the distribution team received a record 80 applications for support in April and distributed over £50,890 to those in need – the highest amount ever distributed in one month.
The figure for April has also taken the total amount of Zakat distributed so far to £519,377. Alhamdulillah this is a significant milestone for NZF and most importantly, our beneficiaries who without the help of Allah and NZF, would be facing severe hardships and difficulties in their struggle against poverty. Our latest video shows how your Zakat and Sadaqa donations are transforming lives for the better and features the cases of Sara, Hanan, Aasim and Ahmed who were left homeless with nowhere to turn to for support – until they found NZF.

Inter Firm Islamic Societies raise 23K for NZF
Jazak Allah khair to everyone at the Inter Firm Islamic Societies (IFIS) network for organising the recent networking event in support of NZF at the British Arab Chambers of Commerce in London. The event was a real success and we have had a lot of positive feedback from guests. We would also like to extend our deep appreciation to IFIS for raising £23,000 in support of our work alhamdulillah.
