Grenfell Inquiry Report

A Tragedy We Will Never Forget

For us at the National Zakat Foundation (NZF), the memory of Grenfell will forever be etched in our hearts.

Today’s release of the Grenfell Inquiry Report is a solemn reminder of the horrific tragedy that occurred in North Kensington seven years ago.

In the aftermath of the fire, NZF played a critical role in the emergency response, offering immediate aid to those affected. However, it is impossible for us to fully grasp the enduring trauma that survivors, families, and the community continue to face seven years later.

Grenfell Tower in North Kensington, London, placed between social housing flats and elegant townhouses in affluent area of West London. Disastrous fire took place here and many lives were lost in early hours of 14 June 2017.

We urge those in power to act swiftly and decisively on the recommendations contained in today’s report. It is essential that lessons are learned and changes are made to ensure that such a tragedy never happens again.

Every person deserves to feel safe and protected in their homes. NZF remains committed to supporting those in need, whether in crisis or through ongoing hardship.

Our work continues to focus on building stronger, more resilient communities so that no one is left vulnerable like the residents of Grenfell Tower.

We stand with the survivors, the families of those who lost their lives, and the wider Grenfell community in their continued fight for justice.

We will never forget.
