Sky News feature: NZF CEO, Dr Sohail Hanif, on UK Muslims facing poverty this Ramadan.

With worsening economic pressures, charities are expecting this Ramadan to force UK Muslim families into further deprivation and poverty. The rising cost of living means individuals and families within our community are struggling, here and now.

As part of a news item for Sky News on the cost of living crisis within UK Muslim communities, Dr Sohail Hanif, chief executive of National Zakat Foundation, comments “within the UK there are a lot of families struggling. We’re really seeing it now.” 

He urges that “one of the key things is that Zakat should be spent within the area where you live…” to help tackle this escalating issue.
