What’s Involved?

Our annual winter walk is back for a third year. This is a great fundraising event involving a gentle 5 mile walk across Central London on Sunday 1st February 2015 insha’Allah. This is a unique chance for you to experience the starkness of being outdoors for a prolonged period in winter, and this year we have some interesting new additions to the programme.

The aim is for participants to brave the cold and raise money for our winter campaign.

HOMELESSNESS AND INADEQUATE HEATING ARE THE TWO MAIN ISSUES FOR THE POOR AND NEEDY IN WINTER.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever feeds a hungry believer will be fed by Allah on the Day of Judgement from the fruits of Paradise . . . and whoever clothes him will be clothed from the green silk of Paradise.”

Special guests will be joining us on the walk to share with us their personal experiences of being homeless in the UK, having to choose between heating and eating, and how NZF has helped them to get back on their feet.
To inject fun into this year’s challenge, there will also be a mystery element to test your wits – more details on the day! The route will take us from Regents Park to Lincoln’s Inn Fields, where our partners at the Children of Adam run a weekly soup kitchen every Sunday come rain or shine! We will of course retain our tradition and give participants an NZF hoodie on arrival to keep you wrapped up!

Knowledge, community-spirit and good fun all in one day!
