The amount of Zakat we give depends on the type of support the applicant has requested:
In the Hardship fund, we give between £280-£1870 (depending on family size)
Through our Community Zakat Program we give a maximum of £250, this is for 2 adults and 4 children. For a single person the grant is £125 and for those married it is £150 + £25 per child with a maximum of 4 children
In the Housing fund, we give up to £2500 in total for rent and council tax arrears, and up to £2780 for furniture (depending on furnishing status, for people who have moved into a new home)
In the Empowerment Programme we identify partners who can deliver programmes that will lead to a successful job outcome for applicants enrolled on the programme- the average grant size for the vocational programmes is £1,936.
