Jazak Allah khair for supporting our Winter Campaign. Alhamdulilah through a number of local events and activities we have managed to raise awareness and essential funds for brothers and sisters in the UK who are homeless, or forced to choose between keeping warm or having enough food to eat this winter. All in all, we have raised £40,000, which will go directly to those who need it most. If you haven’t had the chance to contribute to this important cause thus far, then there is still time to do so. Donate Now!
We still have one last event to close our winter campaign – and that is our annual Winter Walk #intheirshoes taking place tomorrow on Sunday 1st February 2015. You really don’t want to miss out! Register here
Cold food and drink challenge
After 30 days, our Chief Executive Iqbal Nasim has one day remaining for his Cold Food and Drink Challenge. For one month, he has relinquished all hot food and drink in solidarity with those who struggle to have regular hot meals in winter. Through this challenge he has raised over £10,000. Alhamdulilah all donations are being match funded by an anonymous donor, so if you haven’t donated already, now is the time to double your reward with a single act of kindness.
Zakat distribution update
In January we have received acute cases coinciding with the change in weather. In the last month we distributed £64,570 of Zakat funds to deserving members of the UK Muslim community. We currently have 52 live cases, making our total number of cases 1,937 and total Zakat distribution £2,082,636 since inception. If you would like to make a difference, we are looking for volunteer caseworkers to join our team in London. Apply here.

Winter has given us a great opportunity to meet with many of you in person, through our national speakers tour across London, Birmingham and Manchester, as well as the first ever NZF Rough Sleep! Click here to see us in action.
Special thanks to WLIC & Jamia Masjid
Jazak Allah khair to West London Islamic Centre & Jamia Masjid (London) for hosting National Zakat Foundation for our first ever Rough Sleep on Saturday 17th January 2015. Our Rough Sleepers braved the cold and slept on the floor in sleeping bags in the masjid car park from 8pm to 6am. We look forward a bigger and better event next year insha’Allah.
