Kashif, a 53-year-old British Muslim, was looking forward to living the rest of his life in bliss. Having recently remarried, he was blessed with the big happy family he always wanted. Not long after however, he fell very ill with liver problems and soon started suffering from urinal and bowel incontinence. This meant that he lost control over his bladder and bowels. With his home having only one toilet upstairs, everyday living soon became very difficult. There were several occasions when he would struggle to reach the toilet in time. Their home had become uninhabitable due to the significant levels of soiling and human waste. Find out how NZF helped Kashif to get the support he needed to manage his condition. Read more.
Zakat distribution update
The distribution team has been kept busy in September, distributing £80,695 of Zakat funds to deserving members of the UK Muslim community. Many of the cases we have seen this month are from asylum seekers from Palestine, Tunisia, Egypt and Syria, seeking support whilst their applications for asylum are being processed. This makes our total number of cases thus far 1,657 and total distribution is £1,807,881. If you would like to join our team of caseworkers and volunteer your time to alleviate poverty on your doorstep, apply here.
Freeing oneself on the Day of Arafah
The day of Arafah is the day of the most significance in these blessed ten days. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “There is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of Arafah…” (Muslim)
We too must seek His forgiveness and His Mercy on such a monumental day. The NZF team will be fasting, as we hope you will too. We will also strive to complete our Dhul Hijjah Challenge which is almost coming to end. If you haven’t already donated – do so now before it is too late!
